Fusible Resistor

A fusible resistor is a precision resistor manufactured using thin-film technology, designed to limit current under normal operating conditions. This design ensures stable circuit operation and prevents damage from excessive current. However, when the circuit power unexpectedly exceeds its rated power, the fusible resistor responds quickly, automatically disconnecting the circuit to effectively isolate the fault point and protect other sensitive and expensive components in the circuit. This feature makes it a reliable alternative to fuses, providing necessary circuit protection in emergency situations.

More specifically, a fusible resistor has a defined fusing threshold. When the circuit power surges to 16 times its rated power, the resistor can fuse rapidly within 60 seconds, promptly cutting off the current and preventing potential circuit failures or damage from escalating.
