1. Overview of Surface Mount Resistors
Surface mount resistors (SMD resistors) are passive components designed to limit or regulate current flow in electronic circuits. Unlike traditional through‐hole resistors, SMD resistors feature compact, flat packages that are soldered directly onto PCB pads, allowing for higher circuit density and automated assembly. Key benefits include smaller footprint, improved high‐frequency performance, and lower inductance.
